John Roskam, Executive Director, Institute of Public Affairs

  • Executive Director of the free market think tank the Institute of Public Affairs since 2004.
  • Has previously held a profile of diverse and influential roles including: Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to Federal and State Education Ministers, Executive Director of the Menzies Research Centre, Canberra; Manager of Government and Corporate Affairs for a global mining company.
  • A published author and respected academic.
  • His fortnightly column appears in the Australian Financial Review.

Brian Caldwell

 Professor Brian J. Caldwell, Managing Director, Educational Transformations

  • An established international expert in education.
  • Over 25 years as an author, presenter, and academic.
  • Associate Director of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust in England, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Australian Council for Educational Research and co-director of the Futures Focused School Project.
  • Former Dean of Education at the University of Melbourne (1998 – 2004), where he is currently Professorial Fellow; Head of Teacher Education (1988-1999) and Dean of Education (1989-1990) at the University of Tasmania.

Steve Holden

Dr Steve Holden, Managing Editor, Teacher Magazine

  • A journalist and writer.
  • Editor of Teacher, a national education magazine published by the Australian Council for Educational Research, since 2000, and Professional Educator, published for the Australian College of Educators by ACER, since 2002.

  • Has worked with the ACSSO since 2002 as National Projects Manager and Executive Director.
